Have you conducted risk assessments or lost a client to suicide and experienced psychological discomfort?
This training will address clinical competency, vicarious trauma, and legalities of Mental Health Risk Assessment. The training will help both students in a Master’s level Mental Health degree program as well as Professionals in any Mental Health related field.
Participants will be able to:
Discuss evidence-informed competencies for suicide assessment and intervention.
Discuss cultural considerations for risk assessment, and of ways to cope with vicarious trauma related to suicide risk assessment and suicide completion.
Explain legalities of risk assessment, paperwork and documentation, clinical use of risk and protective factors.
This conference will be broken up into two weeks and will be 6 Continuing Education hours.
Dates: Tuesday, June 16th AND Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020
Participants will be signing up to attend both weeks for complete training.
Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm on both days

Laura A. Piccolo, MA, LCPC – Laura is a 4th year doctoral student at Northern Illinois University. Laura owns a private group practice, Infinity Center for Personal Growth, LLC. Laura has 14 years of experience in many different areas of mental health services, including conducting training and doing community and hospital-based Crisis Assessments.
